After high school, I earned my bachelor's degree in Spanish from Trinity University. Since that time, I have gained more than a decade of experience supporting students in higher education, which does include quite a few years of tutoring and teaching. I've learned a lot of little tricks and techniques for learning information and concepts, and I enjoy sharing those with the students I tutor. It's fun to show them that there are sometimes little shortcuts to tackling the most difficult of test questions. In my opinion, each student has the ability to learn, and when both the student and the teacher give their full effort, successful learning isn't far behind. I like tutoring in a one-on-one setting, because each student has a different way of learning, and in a classroom setting, it's difficult to take that into account for 20 or 30 students. But in our tutoring session, I need to only worry about this child and this child's strengths and learning style and interests, and I can use this things to develop individualized learning materials and use the approach that will fit this student's needs. I am a very caring and patient tutor, and enjoy guiding children as they learn to solve problems on their own.
