At a young age I developed a love of math, particularly for Algebra. With the assistance of a teacher that was able to show me just how important and exciting the subject can be, I was able to move past the stumbling blocks that hold so many of us back in this discipline. This newfound appreciation for Algebra motivated me to go on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Math is an important foundation to establish and I want to be able to help others excel in this subject. I have obtained experience in tutoring while working on my degree and also feel comfortable tutoring mature students as well as those in college, high school, and middle school. By taking advantage of the opportunity to learn cutting edge methods of teaching in 2010, I was able to improve my skill set and be a more well-rounded tutor. My methods in tutoring involve taking on a unique approach to each student, as well as making sure that lessons are straightforward and consistent in delivery and content. I encourage students to take on personal responsibility for their studies and work to maintain focus.
